About Ann Cavanaugh
A life time of exploring and making.....
I have always immersed myself in nature. Exploring fields and streams in my childhood. Remote camping and back packing in all environments of the Pacific Northwest. Even today I seek out and create natural safe places.
Early exposure to formal art and home inspired crafts led to a life time of making, so it’s not surprising that I have combined my passions of nature and art. I have found that glass fusing allows me to captures the subtleties, colors and textures of nature.
I began working with glass over 50 years ago when I put pressed wild flowers in between two pieces of glass and created a stained glass piece. Twenty five years later, I discovered glass fusing. After a 33 year career in public education administration, I retired and could spend more time following my passions.
Turning nature into glass is my passion, life long learning is my guide, and teaching is my mission.
